Orangefest Parade -12th July 2022

The Orangefest Parade will be taking place in the city centre on Tuesday 12th July 2022. Some details of the parade are as follows:

• 7,500-8,000 participants expected (max 10,000)

• Main parade starts at 10am on Clifton Street

• Service at City Hall Cenotaph from 10:20-10:50am

• Smaller parades will join the main parade at City Hall and walk to Barnett’s Park (back of parade should be past the Cenotaph by 11:30am)

• Lead band will arrive at Barnett’s Park around 1pm

• The return parade will be leaving Barnett’s Park at 3:30pm (earlier than previous years) and is expected to be back in the city centre between 6-6:30pm

• Buses - Public holiday service operate. No issues expected regarding public transport and services will start at 6:45am and will run until 10pm.

• Trains – Saturday timetable for Belfast with increased services in other counties as required by 12th July locations for celebrations.

• Increased security and staff provisions on trains and at platform locations.

• Two cleansing operations

  • Day time operation; at the back of the parade from Clifton Street to Elmwood Avenue, taking into account Shaftesbury Square.

  • Night team to be back in town approx. 6.15pm with night team beginning at 7pm having the entire route cleansed by 5am.

• Retail Opening Hours 12.00pm – 5.00pm
