Retail Crimewatch in the news

Belfast City Centre Management's Retail Crimewatch scheme featured in The Belfast Telegraph this week as it received praise from PSNI Chief Superintendent Simon Walls. Claire McNeilly's article explains that incidents of shoplifting in Belfast have dropped 40% compared to the same time last year and Ch Supt Walls said much of the success was down to the Retail Crimewatch initiative in Belfast city centre.

Ch Supt Walls explained, "To date, there have been 84 convictions for burglary and approximately 40 custodial sentences involving prolific offenders identified through the Retail Crimewatch initiative, helping to create a safer environment for staff, customers and the public."
