Get ready for the Open !!!

The 148th Open comes to Northern Ireland 14th - 21st July

It is truly an epic year for Northern Ireland tourism as The Open at Royal Portrush will be beamed live to over 600 million households across the world in just over a months time. It is set to attract more than 215,000 eager spectators, with a team of 6,000 staff and 350 volunteers warmly welcoming visitors. Unprecedented demand from fans wanting to attend The Open has led to record-breaking ticket sales and the Championship will be a sell-out on Championship Days for the first time.
Belfast is getting ready to welcome the visitors to the Open who will be staying in the city over this period and the many others who will be making a trip to the capital city part of their visit.

What is happening in Belfast city centre?

 

  • Belfast One will be running family mini golf at Belfast City Hall from 14th - 21st July and will have live music at Bank Square from Friday 12th - Sunday 14th.
  • A golf simulator will be in place at Belfast City Hall
  • The city centre will be dressed with 'The Open' banners at key locations
  • Volunteers will be based in the city throughout the event offering advice to visitors

**BCCM have some stock of the point of sale items for businesses to come onboard with dressing their stores or putting on their own events/theme evenings. These can be collected from our offices, 2nd Floor Sinclair House, 95 - 101 Royal Avenue. These will be available on a first come first served basis. We will not hold over any items**
